Artists of all levels of experience are encouraged to apply for studio residency. In addition to the aesthetic, quality and medium of an artist's work, we select resident artists for their enthusiasm about being a part of our mission to promote local artists and handmade work, and their ability to use the facility responsibly and with consideration for others, especially during COVID 19. Please note this is not a live-in residency.

 

Mediums best suited for our facility include drawing, painting, ceramics, textiles, jewelry-making, and crafty arts, but we haven't thought of everything, so we're interested in other mediums, too! We regrettably cannot accommodate large-scale carpentry and industrial arts.

 

Resident Artists enjoy an ongoing opportunity to display their work for sale in our gallery-storefront, and receive an exceptional 75% commission on sales of their work. Each Resident Artist is entitled to a solo exhibition during their residency, and an opportunity to participate in Oxtail Studio's winter/holiday group show. Resident Artists enjoy additional exposure at events, and on our website.  *Please note that during COVID 19 quarantine, our gallery storefront is not open for business and all exhibits are suspended. 

 

The initial residency term lasts 6 months, culminating in a 2-3 week long solo exhibition. If all goes well, Resident Artists may then continue their studio residencies on a month-to-month basis, and from then on are entitled to annual, month-long solo exhibitions.

 

Rent varies, depending on the studio. All studios are 4-walled with closable doors and include open ceilings, wall-mounted track lights and grounded power outlets. Rent includes ordinary utilities and internet.

Studio #5 – $375/mo – w/ sink (7.75' X 9.5' ~ 73 sqft)
